Criteria for "observable objects"

  1. Predicted mean V magnitude brighter than and also fainter than
  2. Object altitude above degrees
  3. Sun altitude below degrees
  4. Moon must be either
    • at least degrees away from object, or
    • at least degrees from the object and also less than % lit

Additional object selection criteria

  1. Minimum time span observable if not specified in targets file: observable at least hours
    • (Select for specified span length to override targets file values in all cases)
  2. Observable starting no later than minutes after start of night
  3. Observable until at least minutes before end of night
  4. H magnitude brighter than and also fainter than
  5. H magnitude for selection and for predicted V magnitudes:
    • use Koronis program H and G if available
    • use IAU H and G in all cases
